What am I supposed to do if my lights go out?

If your electricity should go off, first go to your main electrical panel to see if a fuse has blown or a breaker has tripped. Fuses must be replaced while breakers need only be reset.

If you determine that the problem is not within your home, call our office at (229) 468-7415. If your outage is during regular office hours, you will speak with a customer service representative. If your outage is after office hours, you will be connected with our electronic power outage system to report your outage. This system works on a caller-id system, reading your phone information from billing information. Even if you think your neighbor has called in, please report your outage since you may have an isolated problem. Our dispatcher will send a serviceman to restore your outage soon. Because some outages are widespread and may take us longer to restore power to remote locations, we encourage you to call back as often as you want to determine how our progress is coming in restoration.
